This article is going to give you some very powerful strategies and tools that you can implement to give your home business exposure in the market place. The methods described are not just theory, they have been used by the top income earners in the industry to build multi million dollar businesses.

If you haven’t figured it out by now the internet is the fastest growing, most effective way to market that exists in the world today. Not to mention that there are numerous ways to market on the internet absolutely free. With sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube growing out of control you would be crazy not to want some of the free exposure you can get from these sites. More people are becoming aware of these sites each and every day; however, only a select few know how to market effectively on these sites.

When you are marketing online there are basically two ways to advertise:

1. You can pay for advertising (i.e. Pay-Per-Click)

2. You can create content (i.e. Social Media, Blogs, Videos etc..)

With that being said now you can see that really most of the advertising you can do on the internet is in fact free, the KEY is having the correct knowledge to make it effective.

If you are currently a part of any social media sites like Facebook or Twitter you will see that there are many people on there trying to pitch their business to EVERYONE which quickly becomes nothing but spam.

I want to advertise my home business for free too, but that does not mean I go around blatantly throwing it it everyone’s face. People who actually take the time to provide the good content on these sites will stick out, and because of that they will get people who want to work with them. Not to mention if you are providing people with valuable content that they can use to grow their business, you will position yourself as a leader.

One thing you need to be able to recognize as an entrepreneur is trends in the industry you are in. The home based business industry is undergoing a drastic change right now. More and more people are starting to see the massive benefits of online marketing, and how it can grow their business quick and cheap. Think about it the old school top income earners in the business have huge networks of people that they have built consistently throughout the years. Now with the internet and technology we have available, there are kids coming in and building networks of tens of thousands of people within their first couple of years in the business!

If you really want to build a business and brand yourself as a leader and someone who knows what they are doing, then you are in a perfect position to take advantage of the technology that available. The internet is going to keep growing and evolving, you can choose to be at the fore front, or not, the choice is yours. One of the most effective ways of advertising your company is through publicity. There is a famous adage that says “Good or bad publicity is still publicity”. But of course, when it comes to business matters, bad publicity is a no-no. You should always maintain a good impression to keep prospective customers coming. You might think that garnering a lot of publicity is out of your reach because hiring a professional can be very expensive. Well, no need to do that. You can get publicity without spending a single penny. Below are tips on how you can get free publicity that will give your home based business more exposure and recognition:

1) Get in touch with the press. What better way to get publicity is to be constantly in touch with the press? Make submitting press releases a part of your marketing plan. Give them information about your company and how it operates, let them know about new contracts you won, new hires, even charities that your business is supporting. Most newspaper reporters won’t meet with every single would be homebased business owner that want to meet with them. You can also volunteer to become one of their business columnist or article contributor. Another effective tool you can use is a press release. You can also use it for free because usually, other webmasters are more than willing to include them in their sites to add content. For example, you are having a big sale or a new branch is about to open, it is the perfect time for you to launch a press release.

2) Volunteer as a guest speaker. Being part of public seminars or organization meetings can give you the publicity you want. You can volunteer to give a speech and let them know some business management ideas. Keep in mind that your speech should not always discuss things about you and your business. You should not do a speech that only advertises your business, your speech should be informative as well.

3) Distribute newsletters for free. Distributing newsletters online needs a very small budget but provides a lot of “bang” for your buck! Newsletters help build a connection to your reader, it’s a small step to go from subscriber to customer.

4) Offer an interview. Press people would be delighted if you can inform them that you are willing to do an interview with them whenever their topic is something you know very well. Approach reporters and editors and tell them that they can contact you anytime.

5) Send a “letter to the editor”. Read the newspaper daily. Not only do you stay on top of your industries news & events, but you can also express your opinion in a letter to the editor. Remember to always be professional in expressing your comments. Use polite words even if you disagree with the article.

6) Offer to teach in a class. Being visible is very important. You can volunteer to teach a class either at a school or an organization on your subject. When you are always visible in these kind of events, people will have the idea that you are expert when it comes to that particular topic. People love to do business with the “perceived” expert in the field.

7) Write articles and distribute them on the web. Article directories are very popular sites for people who are looking for information on a subject or webmasters looking for more content. Make sure you always include an “about the author” box with a link back to your website.

8) Offer free webinars. Also known, as online seminars, webinar is a great way to increase your online group of followers. One big way to keep people joining your webinars is to offer a lot of online training. You should try to create a schedule that your followers can get used to following and incorporate into their busy schedules. You can also create podcast and videos from these webinars and upload them to your site. That way they also provide even more content for your visitors.

9) Give quality products and services. The best way to get publicity? That is to make sure that you are offering quality products that your customers would surely enjoy. If they are happy and satisfied, they will tell their relatives and friends about you and your products. Remember, producing good quality products is still the best marketing strategy
